There has been an enthusiastic response this year to Clean Green and Beautiful's call for homes and businesses to beautify in advance of a visit by Communities in Bloom judges.
The annual Streetscapes program celebrates North Bay properties whose landscaping exemplifies beautification, environmental stewardship, and civic pride.
This year saw 56 properties nominated. It includes five business nominations and 41 residential nominations. Each received a door knocker in acknowledgement of their outstanding efforts in enhancing the beauty of North Bay.
"The remarkable participation and quality of these nominations demonstrate North Bay's readiness to welcome the Communities in Bloom judges, who will be visiting from July 28 to 30," says a news release.
“The beautifully maintained lawns, creative landscapes, and inviting storefronts speak volumes about our residents' and businesses' efforts to beautify North Bay,” said Hariett Madigan, CGB Chair. “We are confident that the Communities in Bloom judges will be impressed by the beauty and community pride on display.”
With the arrival of Communities in Bloom judges approaching, Clean Green Beautiful asks everyone to do their part to help North Bay shine.
What You Can Do to Get Ready:
1. Beautify Your Space: Get rid of any weeds, and ensure your property, including lawns, sidewalks, and public spaces, are clean and well-maintained.
2. Clean and Tidy: Pick-up any litter on your property or neighbourhood.
3. Showcase Heritage: Maintain heritage buildings, monuments, memorials, cemeteries etc.
4. Promote Environmental Actions: Demonstrate sustainable practices such as recycling, composting, and water conservation.
5. Tree Care: Ensure trees on your property are healthy, pruned, and well-maintained.
6. Enhance Landscaping: Consider adding new plants or features to your landscape to enhance its appearance.
