"Earlier this morning our Health Centre was impacted by the global IT outages," says a statement from the North Bay Hospital. "Our systems are now coming back online and we anticipate we will be at full operations by noon today."

Emergency services and patient care are being maintained.

"Patients could experience some delays, however, no appointments or procedures have been cancelled."

However, if you are planning to visit the outpatient lab today for non-essential blood work, consider attending another day.

Meanwhile in Sudbury, Health Sciences North is reminding anyone visiting the hospital to "be kind with our staff."

Some of their IT systems have been impacted, which could mean delays and longer wait times for some services.

"All non-urgent, non-oncology surgical cases for today are being rescheduled. Impacted patients are being notified," says an HSN release.

"We apologize for this inconvenience and our teams continue to be here to provide urgent and emergency care. Thank you for your patience and understanding."

Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike said that the issue believed to be behind the outage was not a security incident or cyberattack.
