An off-duty North Bay Police Service officer’s observation of suspicious actions in the Peninsula Road area on Friday evening, December 7, 2007 has resulted in the clearance of several indecent exposures dating back to August 2007. The officer, aware of several incidents of male flashing motorists, became suspicious of the behaviour of a person and reported the information to Cst. S. Taylor, an on-duty North Bay Police Officer who continued the investigation and identified a suspect.

Cst. Taylor has impounded his vehicle under Section 172 of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act and this 26-year-old Redbridge man has been charged with driving a vehicle in excess of 50km/hour and failing to stop at a red light. The incident occurred on Highway 63, within city limits. The new legislation allows police to impound the vehicle driven, and suspend the driver’s licence for seven days. The driver faces a court date of June 22, 2008 with a minimum $2000 fine in relation to speeding in excess of 50 kph

This same individual has been charged with two Summary Conviction counts, of Indecent Act and faces a January 2008 court date. He has been released on all counts, on an undertaking, before the officer-in-charge.
