Impaired driver was going wrong way on Highway 69

Police were able to safely stop the vehicle and the driver was arrested for impaired driving, then taken to the OPP detachment for further testing

Opp say a driver was arrested and charged with impaired after police conducted a traffic stop with a wrong-way vehicle on a four-lane section of Highway 69.

On July 25 at 7 p.m., Nipissing OPP saw a vehicle travelling northbound in the southbound lanes on Highway 69 south of Sudbury.

Police were able to safely stop the vehicle and the driver was arrested for impaired driving, then taken to the OPP detachment for further testing.

Judy Bellefeuille, 42, from French River, is charged with, operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), operation while impaired - alcohol, and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on September 4 in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
