Human remains found

The Ontario Provincial Police is currently investigating the discovery of human skeletal remains in the Burks Falls area. The remains were discovered Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m.

The remains were discovered Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. in deep bush by two men picking ferns, approximately 16 kilometres from the town of Kearney, Ontario.

Members of the OPP North Bay and Almaguin Highlands Crime Units, under the direction of Detective Inspector Mark Pritchard of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch are continuing the investigation.

Forensic personnel are currently on scene and investigators are awaiting the arrival of a forensic anthropologist from Toronto.
