Honouring a commitment

Five years ago both the Nipissing and North Bay Rotary Clubs stepped up and pledged their support to the North Bay Health Centre project.

Monday the two Rotary Clubs hosted a special luncheon meeting at the Best Western to announce that they had met their $500,000 commitment toward the new facility.

North Bay Rotary President, Bob Sampson and Nipissing Rotary President, Steven Dreany were all smiles when presenting Lois Krause, Executive Director of the Hospital Foundation with a cheque.

The clubs worked tirelessly raising the money through various events including gala dinners, golf tournaments, tag days, McHappy Days, antique shows, King of the Hill drag racing, garage sales and many others.
