Environment Canada says to expect heavy snow this afternoon for:
- North Bay - West Nipissing,
- New Liskeard - Temagami,
- Greater Sudbury and vicinity,
- Temagami
- Burk's Falls
- Huntsville
- Parry Sound - Muskoka:
Periods of heavy snow continue today and tonight.
Snow associated with a trough moved into the region Tuesday night and continues to fall this morning. The snow is expected to intensify later this morning as a Colorado low passes to the south of the region. Amount 5 to 10 cm today but total snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm are likely by the time the low moves out of the region overnight tonight.
Wind becoming east 20 km/h late this afternoon. High zero. Wind chill minus 13 in the morning.
The risk of freezing rain is also possible this evening from Manitoulin Island to the Greater Sudbury area then to North Bay as temperatures rise close to the freezing mark.
Poor winter driving conditions from low visibility in snow and accumulating snow on untreated roads are expected. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.
