The heat wave we've been experiencing is expected to end tomorrow night but continue today.

Expect maximum daytime temperatures of 29 to 31 degrees with humidex values of 36 to 38. The overnight minimum temperatures will be 17 to 19.

A cooler air mass is expected to arrive Saturday night.

A heat warning is in effect for:

  • North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa
  • Sudbury
  • Temiskaming Shores - Temagami
  • West Nipissing - French River

Extreme heat can affect everyone’s health. The health risks are greater for older adults, infants and young children, pregnant people, people with physical and/or mental illnesses, and people with disabilities or mobility issues.

Drink plenty of water regularly, even before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration. Thirst is not a good indicator of dehydration.
