If you have electronics and furniture just collecting dust and taking up precious space, the city-wide ‘free’ yard sale Saturday may just be the answer.

The city is encouraging everyone to put your unwanted household items at the bottom of your driveways from 8am to 6pm and give a neighbour a chance to score some new-to-you items.

The giant yard sale is a perfect way to avoid dragging them off and needlessly filling up the landfill.

Folks are encouraged to put out usable furniture, clothing, books, tools, sporting goods, electronics, etcetera, however, they discourage paints and other toxic goods.

Officials also warn that there is no special trash pickup for left over items and that at the end of the day the left over articles must be put away off the curb.
