Students of Renée’s Dance Connection on the competitive team participated in the ‘All Out Dance North Bay Competition’ at the Capitol Centre Saturday, May 6th.

Leslie Piekarski, a senior dancer blew the competition away winning five gold scores in each the five solos and duet sections she competed in.

In total, the team won 13 gold scores, 40 high silver scores, 12 Overall High Point trophies, as well as six scholarships.

The competitive will wrap up the season at the North Bay Kiwanis Festival of Music and Dance on May 12-13.

Highlights:
At this competition, dancers received a score of gold from three adjudicators for marks over 90, high silver for marks 85-90, silver for marks from 80-85. There were no bronze scores received by the team for marks under 80.

Renée’s Pre- Mini Company dancers Valérie Couture, Tory Lukach, Zoé Lukach, Sarah Martin, Paige Moir, France Robichaud, and Jayden Tranter brought home two high silvers for their jazz and tap dance performances. Their tap dance number also received an Adjudicator’s Choice award.

The Mini Company dance team of Allie Fairbarn, Jenna Shortt, Jordan Stewart, and Hayley Waram won team high silvers in their Musical Theatre, Jazz, and Hip Hop numbers. The Hip-Hop group also won the Overall High Point age 7-10 small group Scholarship. Shortt and Waram won the Overall High Point age 7-11 duet scholarship and scored high silver with their duet. Shortt scored high silver and Waram scored silver in their solos.

Renée’s Junior Company team of Adam Arthurs, Kayla Battagaglia, Emily Forth, Justin Jacques, Amber Jahn, Brooke Jahn, and Hope Moir, brought home high silvers for their lyrical, musical theatre and hip-hop dances. Arthurs and Forth received high silver for their duet. Forth, Brooke Jahn, and Amber Jahn received received high silver in their solos. Arthurs received high silver and the Novice Adjudicators Choice Scholarship Award. Jacques received high silver, 2nd Runner Up Overall Novice High Point Trophy, and Overall High Point Novice Solo 7-10 Scholarship.

The Intermediate 4 team members consisting of Shayla Lamoureux, Katrina Piekarski, Sarah Purtell and Zoë Tessier won high silver in Musical Theatre, Hip Hop and Lyrical numbers. For their Musical Theatre duet, Piekarski and Purtell won high silver and the 2nd Runner-Up Overall High Point Trophy for 12 & under. Piekarski won gold and the 1st Runner Up Overall High Point Trophy for 12 & under solo. Purtell won high silver in her Musical Theatre solo. Tessier won high silver and won the 2nd Runner Up Overall High Point Trophy for Novice solo. Lamoureux and Tessier earned silver for their Jazz duet.

Intermediate 7 Company dancers are Bronwyn Arthurs, Jennifer Butler, Katie Forth, Jessica Jacques, Jesslynn Morrow, and Mackenzy Spiess. They earned high silvers in their Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theatre and Modern numbers. Soloists Butler, Forth, Guillemette, Jacques and Spiess all received high silvers in their solos. Arthurs received silver in her Musical Theatre solo while Spiess and Arthurs earned high silver in their modern duet.
Senior Company performers are Alex Charette, Megan Cuncins, Michelle Gibb, Stefania Marchione, Taylor Matson, Leslie Piekarski, Kate Taylor, and Brendan Waram earned gold for their Musical Theatre, Hip Hop performances. The Hip Hop number also won the Overall High Point 13 & Over Small Group Trophy and the Over 14 Small Group Scholarship. They won high silver in their Jazz, and Modern performances. Piekarski won gold in her Open, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre, and Lyrical solos. She also won an adjudicator’s choice award for emotional emphasis in her choreography solo. Piekarski and Taylor won high gold in their Lyrical duet. Waram won platinum scores for Hip Hop, Modern, Lyrical, and Musical Theatre and high gold in his choreography solo. Cuncins and Waram won low gold in their Lyrical duet. Charette, Matson, and Marchione won high gold in their solos. Kate Taylor earned low gold in her solo while Matson received low gold in her Lyrical solo.
