If you have ideas about Callander’s annual FunFest, then tonight’s event is made for you.

This evening, at 7 p.m., Callander’s Events Committee is hosting a brainstorming session within the Orton Room in the Callander Community Centre, at 1984 Swale Street. Committee members want to hear feedback and ideas from residents about this year’s upcoming event, which takes place at the end of June.

Lorne Brady, a long-serving member of the committee, noted, “It’s just an informal evening, and we hope to engage with some members of the public, so hopefully we’ll get some drop-ins.”

Have an idea for the parade? Or perhaps you’d like to see a certain activity for the kids take place? Maybe you have a great idea for this year’s theme? Well, the committee wants to hear from you, indeed.

The committee is also looking for volunteers to help on the big day, so if you’re interested in helping with FunFest, head to the Orton Room to learn more about how you can contribute.

Members of the Events Committee bring to life many of Callander’s most popular events. Each year they produce FunFest, which includes securing the music and organizing the parade, and every fall members organize and operate Cranberry Day.

When the Battalion came to town last month for a day at the Bill Barber Rink, the Events Committee helped organize that. And the Callander Lights Up Christmas event? You guessed it, the Events Committee produces that as well.

However, tonight’s session is all about FunFest, so keep that in mind as you enter the Orton Room.
