On the 12th of May 2006, at 10:37am, a collision involving a motor vehicle and a southbound Ontario Northland passenger train occurred at the Ontario Northland Railway crossing at Hilliardton Road, Armstrong Twp.

The driver of the motor vehicle, Lois EVANS age 64 years of Evanturel Township was pronounced dead at the scene.

Members of the Ontario Northland train crew and the passengers on the train were not injured.

The investigation of the accident has been completed by members of the Temiskaming OPP. The investigating officer for the collision was Const Kevin WATSON.
