Fire situation report Friday August 31st

HIGHLIGHTS:

• 0 new; 16 active fires

• 586 fires; 7779.4 hectares to date since Apr.1st


DETAILS:

There have been no new fires in the last 24 hours.

There will be a mix of sun and cloud to mainly sunny across most of the region. A chance of a shower or early morning thunderstorm remains across the James Bay region. Temperatures will be at or slightly below seasonal with light to moderate winds.

The Ministry of Natural Resources reminds the public that before burning this long weekend please check with your municipality to be advised of their burning regulations. Never leave your fire unattended and make sure it is completely extinguished before leaving.
