The North Bay Musicians and Entertainers Hall of Recognition is announcing its slate of 2022 inductees.
The induction gala will take place on Friday, September 16 at The Grande Event Centre, featuring a full sit-down dinner, presentations and live performances, president of the board of the North Bay Musicians & Entertainers Hall of Recognition Ted Chase tells BayToday.
Here are the latest inductees.
- Dave "Zeke" Johnson – guitarist, band leader, singer/songwriter
- Norm Critchley – violinist/concertmaster, North Bay Symphony founder
- Peter Cliche – singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, recording artist
- Moe McGuinty – guitarist, singer/songwriter, long-time solo performer
- Mark Allen – keyboardist, composer, music director, vocal director
- Ione Barre – actor, director, Gateway Theatre Guild pioneer
- Eric Bedard – award-winning and renowned “Magician to the Stars”
- Shirantha Beddage – jazz saxophonist, composer, Juno nominee
- Hali Carlson – Dreamcoat Fantasy Theatre pioneer, long-time producer
- Sean Kelly – rock/classical guitarist, recording artist, singer, music educator
- Mary Kennedy – lead singer, actor, multi-instrumentalist
- Shawn Sasyniuk – drummer/percussionist, guitarist, singer/songwriter
The Hall is a non-profit organization with the objective of recognizing musicians and entertainers from the North Bay area for the enjoyment they have brought and continue to bring, and for their significant artistic contributions locally and beyond.
It also seeks ways to encourage and assist up-and-coming or aspiring performers in the region.
Every two years or so a new group of inductees is selected and announced. An induction ceremony is held in their honour, and their plaques are added to those already on display at the North Bay Mall.
