Don't Park There

Apparently the North Bay Parking Authority didn’t get the memo that the city was only proposing a bylaw amendment that would stop buses, school buses, heavy vehicles, recreation vehicles or commercial motor vehicles and even motor homes from parking on city streets.

Martha Hall Findlay, Liberal Leader Candidate, made a campaign swing through town Wednesday to touch base with local Liberals and over the course of lunch was issued a parking ticket.

The parking proposal was sent back to committee Tuesday for fine tweaking as Councillor George Maroosis found it to strict.

Maroosis said the amendment was too restrictive for folks who may drop by at a friend’s house to go fishing or for a coffee.

Findlay says she has parked that bus all over the province including across from Parliament Hill and Queen Street in Toronto, but this was the first parking violation on her campaign across Canada.
