The past 6 months have been turbulent for board members of Dreamcoat Fantasy Theatre. They have frantically been searching for a new space since losing their home in the North Bay Mall on Lakeshore Drive.

Frustrated with the lack of progress, the team has questioned the future of the company to the point that Michelina Beam, Executive Director made a public appeal to the city for help in October.

Since making the appeal the board has had a number of leads, but has found it difficult to find space large enough, affordable, and accessible, but most importantly a safe place for the children.

This week the troupe toured a space in the downtown core that may just suit their needs to become the new home.

“John Wilson is working for us and has shown us a space that may be promising,” says Beam.

Beam says it is not a done deal at this point because the group has still to negotiate specifics like cost and lease, as well as board approval before any decisions are made.

Beam will entertain all space options until a deal is signed. Anyone with leads is encouraged to contact Dreamcoat Fantasy Theatre at 472-1590.
