Demers re-elected Board Chair

Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord held its annual organizational session at its head office yesterday evening. Raymond Lessard, Director of Education, acknowledged the continuous devotion of the trustees in this second year of their term. “Their commitment and interest in French-Catholic education is genuine. Their efforts and dedication are certainly praise-worthy”, affirmed Mr. Lessard.

The annual session also brought elections of the board’s Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson. Ronald Demers was re-elected Chairman and Mona Lessard Morton was re-elected Vice-Chairwoman. According to the Director of Education, their experience with the Board will ensure a dynamic leadership.

Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord has 17 French-language Catholic schools, 14 elementary and 3 secondary. Over 3300 students attend a CSCFN school, covering the area including the municipalities of Thorne, Mattawa, Astorville, Bonfield, North Bay and West Nipissing.
