Cops looking for car theft suspect

Stolen vehicle recovered but the suspect is still free

Police are investigating a car theft that occurred March 29. The vehicle was recovered, however the suspect has not been identified nor caught.

Police believe the crime occurred between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m., when a man gained access to various areas of a Lakeshore Drive hotel, including locker rooms and the staff lounge.

"The suspect took a set of keys belonging to the victim, who was an employee there,"says a police release. "Later that evening, the accused is observed on CCTV returning to the hotel at approximately 9:50 p.m."

The thief went to the parking lot and stole the victim’s 2014 black Mitsubishi Mirage. He was last seen driving southbound on Lakeshore Drive.

On March 31, the vehicle was discovered at an address on nearby Booth Road, and it was examined by forensic investigators, and the victim was notified.

Police are looking to identify and speak with the man in the photos, who was in the area at the time.

If you can identify the man in the photos, or have information call the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555.
