Directionally challenged drivers made sure two Powassan OPP officers were unable to enjoy their coffee break this morning.

The officers were at a restaurant south of Powassan, this morning when they saw a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 11.

They responded immediately responded and stopped the vehicle.

The driver, it turned out, was on his way to the Ontario Police College in Aylmer, Ontario where his son was graduating as a police officer.

After charging him, the officers returned to the restaurant to finish their coffee. Within 10 minutes, though, they saw a second vehicle driving southbound in the northbound lanes.

Their coffee break interrupted once again, the two officers immediately stopped the second driver, laying charges as well.

Both drivers were appropriately charged under the Highway Traffic Act with driving the wrong way in one-way traffic. They face a $110.00 fine.

And the officers faced cold coffee when they returned, something they're no doubt used to.
