COBS bread has once again raised funds for a local organization.
With the help of community supporters, local COBS Bakery donated $7,000 to Nipissing Serenity Hospice (NSH) in support of residential palliative care.
Placing the business in 5th place in Ontario for the highest amount of donations raised, amongst the 56 total COBS Bread’s provincially. And 7th in Canada out of 160 of the businesses nationwide.
Throughout the month of March, COBS Bread collected donations at the cash for the hospice.
This led up to their “Doughnation Day” on April 1, where $2 from every 6-pack of hot cross buns purchased was donated back to support the local charity.
The original goal for this campaign was to raise $1500, which COBS surpassed by $5,500.
Earlier this month, COBS North Bay owners, Shawn O’Neil and Carrie MacDonald presented Nipissing Serenity Hospice’s Fund Development Coordinator Bernadette Lindsay with a cheque for $7,000.
“We are so grateful to all of the incredible staff at COBS Bread, as well as all of the customers who donated or purchased the hot cross buns. Our hearts are warmed by the amount of community spirit here in North Bay,” said Lindsay.
