City police charge local man with several offences including drug trafficking

Police tried to execute an arrest warrant but the suspect fled on foot

On November 12 at 8 p.m., North Bay police officers located a wanted man in a vehicle at a gas station on Algonquin Avenue. They tried to execute an arrest warrant, but the suspect fled from police on foot.

Officers from the North Bay Police Service’s Community Response Unit located the man a short time later in the backyard of a house on Maplewood Avenue where he was arrested.

A search by police resulted in the seizure of:

  • 7 tablets of methamphetamine
  • 7 grams of crystal methamphetamine
  • 4 grams of cocaine
  • $715 in cash

Police estimate the street value of the drugs seized is approximately $1,150.

Dylan Robert Johnson, 34, of North Bay is charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Breach a conditional sentence order

Johnson is being held pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
