Chili cook off part of annual Winter Carnival

The Mattawa Bonfield Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce that plans are moving full steam ahead for the hosting of its 3rd regional Winter Carnival. This year, the Carnival begins its annual celebration Friday January 30 running through until Sunday February 1st, 2009; and promises to be full of new and exciting events. A variety of activities for all ages!

Communities all over the region will be participating over the 3 days working to bring you and your families a weekend of entertainment and excitement!!!

An example of activities and events being planned includes: we will be hosting an evening of family skating, pancake breakfast, chili cook off. We also have planned a very new and exciting Monopoly Game snowmobile run, crib tournament, silent auction, free skating, spaghetti dinner, snow sculpture competition and much more. This is just a sampling of events with many more activities to be added to this list. Reminiscent of Chairwoman Diane Corriveau’s comments last year “future of White Pine Winter Carnivals will be bigger and better,” and rest assured, you’re not going to want to miss the 2009 installment.
