Over a 150 Toronto District School Board students, parents and teachers from Grade 7 and 8 visited Canadore College Wednesday and Thursday for a Career Conference.

Students had the opportunity to learn about various careers through hands-on workshops including practicing how to be a radio announcer or TV news anchor, making candy, 3-D drawing and animating, as well as learning about the aviation industry.

The sessions were designed to allow participants to explore what they are interested in while providing the information to achieve future goals.
Jim Connell, Vice-President, Academic and Student Services for Canadore College said the college was excited to have the students from the Toronto Board at the college to explore and experience programs offered first hand.
“The energy that is generated by having the TDSB students here is truly inspiring.”

The partnership with the college and the Toronto District School Board is part of the Pathways for Success program.
The Pathways program focuses on full-spectrum education that allows students to be exposed to all educational pathways, including apprenticeship, college, university and workplace.
