ASD consultations begin

As you may know, on August 17, 2007, the Honorable Mary Anne Chambers, Minister of Children and Youth Services announced new funding for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) respite services.

In order to better meet the needs of families of children and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, North East Region, is engaged in a respite services planning initiative. As part of the process, the Ministry is conducting community consultations with parents and community partners to gather information that will assist in the development of a plan for the new funding for ASD respite services.

The North East Office would like to invite you to a community planning and consultation session that will guide the development of the respite services for children and youth with autism spectrum disorders for our region.

The consultation meetings will take place in the following locations:

North Bay August 28, 2007 Clarion Resort

4:00 – 5:30 pm French session Pinewood Park

5:30 – 6:15 pm dinner for both sessions 201 Pinewood Park Drive

6:15 – 7:45 pm English session North Bay ON, P1B 8J8
