Police have arrested a man for drug trafficking, and one of the charges claim he set traps.
Constable Kyle Ney told BayToday that the traps were set "in a way that obviously caused us some concern."
Yesterday, members of the West Parry Sound OPP, its Drug Action Team, Crime Unit, Emergency Response Team and the Canine Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Parry Sound.
Over 3,500 grams of marijuana were seized along with growing equipment, ammunition, and weapons. Ney says the weapons were the traps and "other items that were being utilized to be a weapon. It's main purpose would be to be used as a weapon by the accused."
The ammunition was shotgun shells. No gun was seized.
"The accused is under a firearm prohibition order so he violated that by possessing the ammunition," said Ney.
The estimated street value of the marijuana seized is $12,000.
