The Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival is coming back to the Capitol Centre.
It's one of the largest and most prestigious mountain festivals in the world.
"Hot on the heels of the Festival that is held every fall in beautiful Banff, Alberta, the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour hits the road," says a release. "With stops planned in over 600 communities and more than 40 countries across the globe, the Banff World Tour celebrates amazing achievements in outdoor storytelling and filmmaking worldwide."
From the over 400 entries submitted to the Festival each year, award-winners and audience favourites are among the films that are carefully selected to play in theatres around the world. Traveling to remote vistas, analyzing topical environmental issues, and bringing audiences up close and personal with adrenaline-packed action sports this year's World Tour is an exhilarating and provocative exploration of the mountain world.
"Join the Capitol Centre in the Betty Speers Theatre as the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour brings the spirit of outdoor adventure to North Bay on Thursday, Jan. 30, and Friday, Jan. 31," says the release.
Each night will screen different films, and the list of films will be published at a later date.
“This is our 7th time hosting the Banff Film Festival here in the Betty Speers Theatre!” says Dan Misturada, Director of Programming and Events at the Capitol Centre. “The festival is one that our community looks forward to each year, especially because it’s a celebration of the beauty of the outdoors.”
