Almost $90,000 of drugs seized in Maplewood Ave. raid

City police seized cocaine and Fentanyl during a raid on Maplewood Ave. earlier this month NBPS reported today.

A North Bay man remains in custody after a search warrant was executed at the home.

This spring, the NBPS Street Crime Unit began to investigate someone who was trafficking drugs out of a Maplewood Avenue home. 

On June 5 a search warrant was obtained and the Street Crime unit searched the residence.  "A large quantity of illegal drugs was located and the man was later arrested and charged," says a news release.

As a result of police searches, the following was seized:

  • 55.6 grams of Cocaine
  • 235.3 grams of Fentanyl
  • $45 in cash

The value of the seized drugs is approximately $88,810.

Darryl Beauchesne, 43, of North Bay is charged with:

  • Two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Beauchesne was held in custody, pending an upcoming bail hearing.
