Editor's note: Ms. Peters write in response to Bill Walton's column The Underground Economy.

To the editor:

"Toronto taxpayers will be sharing the $13 million dollar burden to rename Dundas St."

It seems obvious to me that when our various levels of government start "tightening their belts", taxpayers won't have to and then, the underground economy will go into decline.

Overall, people want to be honest.

But with the tremendous increase in food, housing, and transportation costs over the past few years, it's no wonder everyone tries to save some money wherever they can.
