Adams and Calarco up for best screenplay

North Bay artists Jim Calarco and Susan Adams are both finalists in the Best Screenplay category at this year’s Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards.

Jim Calarco is nominated for “That Was Easy”, his first foray into screenwriting. Jim has been writing short stories since university. In 2001, Forum magazine published one of his humorous articles entitled “You know it’s time to retire when…”. When not writing, he works as an actor and in recent years has appeared in “Shania”, “Conviction”, and “That Beautiful Somewhere”.

Susan Adams is nominated for the film “The Devil’s Kitchen”. Susan has a background as a psychiatrist. She has written a number of short and feature length screenplays. She has produced and directed two short films; “Tom” and “Point of Order”, based on her original screenplays.

The awards will be handed out on Saturday May 10th at the Radisson Hotel in Sudbury, Ontario.
