A trek on Lake Nipissing goes bad

On Saturday, January 24th, 2009 shortly before 6:00 p.m., North Bay OPP received a request for assistance.

A male advised that he and his girlfriend had walked to Manitou Island on Lake Nipissing and that his girlfriend could not make the trek back as she was experiencing fatigue and becoming extremely cold. North Bay OPP officers located the female approximately 2 km from the shores of North Bay.

North Bay Ambulance met the officer on shore where both parties were treated and released at the scene.
