To the editor:

It was NOT NECESSARY TO CLEAR CUT the city's right-of-way next to Sweetman's Gardens-- especially two big evergreen and several lovely sumac trees.

There is room for McIntyre Street, as it is already there and servicing an existing home.

What exactly does the city plan to do with the right-of-way? I do not foresee the city putting sidewalks on this block as there are no sidewalks in the blocks at either end of the devastation.

Will they put in grass and/or garden areas and upkeep it?

Why bother to extend McIntyre Street in the first place? There really is no need for the sake of 6 residential units that are planned for the other end of the block where there is access from Timmins Street.

WHAT A WASTE OF TAXPAYERS' MONEY.

Is there a secret plan to destroy Sweetman’s gardens and fill it with residences?
