IMPAIRED BY DRUGS
On May 16 at approximately 10 PM a local citizen became so
concerned about the erratic driving of another driver that she not only called 911, but stayed with the vehicle until police arrived.

Cst. Ross Lingley of the North Bay Police Service credits the concerned citizen for the arrest of a 40-year-old female who was charged with driving while impaired by drugs (prescription).

The arrest took place on Wyld Street and the driver was released to attend court at a later date.

STOLEN CREDIT CARDS
On May 17 during the afternoon hours constables Penny Kerr and Walter Neeley of the North Bay Police Service attended a grocery store on Lakeshore Drive and arrested a male person for allegedly uttering a stolen credit card. The man
was returned to North Bay police headquarters where Det. Cst. Al Kraft of the fraud section began the investigation.

This culminated in several charges against this
male person.

James HOWARD, 39, of First Avenue, in North Bay, is charged with:

- possession of property obtained by crime;
- four counts of breach of probation;
- eight counts of fraud;
- nine counts of uttering forged documents;
- nine counts of illegal use of credit cards.

These stolen credit cards had been obtained from unlocked vehicles that had wallets left within them.

Howard was kept in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

14-YEAR-OLD SPITS ON OFFICER
On May 18 shortly after midnight, Cst. Ross Lingley of this Service attended a call within the city. This call involved a 14-year-old girl who had escaped a detention home.

The officer located the youth nearby and brought her back to the home where she ran out again. This time the officer
had to handcuff her while the staff made alternate arrangements for her custody. At this time she allegedly spit on the officer's face. She was arrested and is being held for a bail hearing.
