Victims believe hammer used in Ferris car-vandalism acts

Vandal goes on a destruction spree

Neighbours on streets behind the North Bay Mall on Lakeshore Drive believe a young male is responsible for a series of acts of vandalism that involves smashing car windows.

At least three cars in the Tweedmuir-Prince Edward Drive-Labreche-Summit Streets area have suffered substantial damage in the past two weeks.

Police were notified.

One car, an Acura 1992 Integra, was in the owner's driveway when it had windows smashed early in the morning of Sunday, September 1.

It appears that a hammer was used on the windshield and driver-side front window of the Integra. The windshield had four small holes approximately the size of a hammerhead. The side window had a longer hole about the size of a whole hammerhead that punctured through the tint film and into the vehicle.

A pair of neighbours reported loud bangs around 2 a.m. The victim believes that the vandal may have cuts and scratches on his weapon/hammer-wielding hand/arm.

Two other vehicles were vandalized in the same area in the last two weeks.

A Honda had a rock thrown through its back window. It appears that a hammer was used to smash in the front windshield given the circle marks.

Neighbours are looking for security videos along Labreche and Prince Edward Drive. If you can help phone North Bay Police Services or Crime Stoppers.
