'Upset' teen assaults officer at police station

North Bay Police says a teenager was arrested at the police station Saturday morning after assaulting an officer

At around 5:15 a.m., a 17-year-old was at the North Bay Police Service headquarters regarding an unrelated matter. 

The youth was speaking to police, became upset and walked out the front doors at police headquarters and damaged a marked police cruiser. 

The teen was arrested and brought inside police headquarters and while being processed assaulted an officer.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act is charged with;

  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Assault a peace officer

The youth was later released to their parents with a future court date.
