On June 13 shortly after midnight, constable Ken Ayres and Bruce Whitehead of the North Bay Police Service attended a residence within the city regarding an assault.

It is alleged that a man struck a woman in the face, knocking her to the ground and causing bleeding from her nose.

The officers arrested a male at the scene without incident.

David CHIASSON, 49, of Laurier Avenue, is charged with assault causing bodily harm and was held in custody.

FALSE REPORT TO POLICE
On June 10 Cst. Jason Long of the North Bay Police Service arrested a male in relation to a false report the individual made to police.

The man had allegedly reported stolen medication to the North Bay Police Service, when in fact this original narcotic medication was not stolen but horded by the defendant.

John Paul NESSETH, 55, of Princess Street E, is charged with public mischief, trafficking in a controlled substance, and false pretences (obtaining more narcotic medication).

He was kept in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

MAN SHOWS GUN
On June 11 and 12 during various times, a man allegedly continued to harass a woman known to him. The incidents occurred throughout various areas of the city. On one of these occasions this man allegedly showed the woman a gun hidden on his person. The woman fled the scene at the first opportunity and police were called.

On June 13 detective-constables James Warren and Chris Johnson of the Investigation Section of the North Bay Police Service arrested a man in relation to the above incidents.

Dylan DOYON, 22, of Labreche Drive, is charged with carrying a dangerous weapon and criminal harasment. He is to appear in court July 19.

BREAK AND ENTER
On June 12 between 1 PM and 5:30 PM thieves entered a home in the 300 block of Hutchison Street through an unlocked door. Once inside the thieves made off with a substantial amount of cash within a small fire proof safe.
