RIVER GOES BERSERK
It is alleged that on Nov. 12 shortly after 4 AM a tractor transport was being driven on an on-ramp from Highway 17 to Highway 11 at a high rate of speed.

It is also alleged that the passenger in the sleeper berth woke up and observed that the driver was driving from the passenger seat. The passenger intervened and the transport was brought to a local truck depot.

An ambulance attended due to the physical condition and erratic behaviour of the driver. The attendants were attacked and the above officers attended and had to subdue him several times with a taser to gain control of the situation.

The man was then brought to the hospital by ambulance for observation. Test results are pending.

Upon return to duty on Nov. 16, constables Scott McFarlane and Bill Gainforth attended a residence in St. Charles and arrested a male person in relation to the above incident.

Mark WAGLER, 44, of Bedard Road, is charged with dangerous driving and remains in custody for a bail hearing.
