FRAUD ALERT
The North Bay Police Service would like to warn local financial institutions of the possibility of ATM frauds.

Recently the police service has been made aware that in neighbouring communities frauds have occurred at ATM outlets. A skimming machine has been installed within the facade of the ATM itself and when the customer enters the bankcard, this skimming machine records the information for the thief. Usually this is accompanied with a pinhole camera also attached to the facade, enabling the thieves to remove money from that account at a later time.

The service would like to caution the financial institutions on this recent possibility and to also caution the public about being vigilant when using these ATMs.
