OPP are investigating a disturbing incident in Thessalon that involved a son assaulting and restraining his mother.
Yesterday afternoon East Algoma OPP responded to a family dispute on Dawson Street in the town of 1,200 people.
The investigation revealed that an adult son had elbowed his mother in the face, then proceeded to headbutt her while restraining her in a chair for an extended period.
"The son also prevented the parent from leaving a bunkhouse on the property and pocketed their cell phone," said Constable Bev Gauthier.
Matthew Bosworth, 30, from Brantford is charged with:
- Assault
- Mischief under $5,000
- Forcible confinement
- Possession of a Schedule I narcotic
- Fail to comply with probation order
Bosworth appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail in Blind River today and was remanded into custody.
