Drunk and passed out. Coffee shop customer arrested

While in custody, the individual became belligerent, urinated on the floor and walls, and later stuffed their shirt into the cell toilet

On December 18 at 11 p.m., East Algoma OPP responded to a report of an intoxicated person who had passed out at a table with a bottle of alcohol at a coffee shop in Blind River.

Upon arrival, police saw the intoxicated individual walking away from the business. The person was arrested and taken to the Blind River detachment.

"While in custody, the individual became belligerent, urinated on the floor and walls, and later stuffed their shirt into the cell toilet, splashing toilet water throughout the cell," says a release.

As a result, Gerry Dickenson, 19. from Blind River, is charged with:

  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Failure to comply with an undertaking
  • Being intoxicated in a public place

Dickenson is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on February 6, 2025.
