Police ERT training exercise underway at Memorial Gardens

NBPS says the training will not result in the closure of any streets or the disruption of daily activities for members of the public in the area

The North Bay Police Service is advising the public that there is an increased police presence at Memorial Gardens on Chippewa Street West to conduct a training exercise on Friday, Sept. 15.

Members of the public should not be alarmed. The North Bay Police Service’s Emergency Response Team will be conducting a training exercise between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday.

The training will not result in the closure of any streets or the disruption of daily activities for members of the public in the area and access to Memorial Gardens will be maintained.

The NBPS Emergency Response Team utilizes specialized skills, tactics, and equipment, to protect public safety and respond to unpredictable situations. The ERT currently consists of 133 officers who receive regular training to effectively respond to all manner of high-risk incidents.
