Huntsville OPP say they arrested a naked man running down a roadway yesterday after responding to a disturbance call,
It happened just after noon on Old Muskoka Road,
"The investigation revealed the accused had been acting strangely and became assaultive towards the victim," said Constable Ted Warman. "The victim was struck with an object and physically assaulted as well."
The victim was assessed for minor injuries by Muskoka EMS and did not require any further medical attention.
Police say the accused was taken into custody without incident.
Thomas Fletcher, 34, of Huntsville is charged with:
- Assault causing bodily harm - choke, suffocate or strangle
- Assault with a weapon
- Fail to comply with a probation order
Fletcher remained in custody and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice this morning.
The Huntsville OPP says this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
