The Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has arrested two drivers for separate impaired-related incidents.
On March 13 at 7:59 p.m., the Huntsville OPP conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 60 for a vehicle travelling in excess of 50km/h above the posted speed limit. The investigation of this traffic offense resulted in the officer suspecting the driver to have alcohol in his body. The driver subsequently failed the roadside testing, requiring further breath testing.
As a result of the investigation, Joey Runtic, 36 years old of Brampton Ontario, has been charged with:
· Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Stunt driving, speeding
· Drive motor vehicle - no validation
· Novice driver - BAC above 0
· Drive motor vehicle - no accompanying driver
The accused's vehicle was impounded for 14 days as a result of the stunt driving offense and he was served a 90-day administrative driver's license suspension.
The accused is set to appear in court on April 15 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.
On March 14 at 2:14 a.m., the Huntsville OPP was on patrol on King William St. when a vehicle was observed to be driving erratically. A traffic stop was conducted and officers determined the female driver to be intoxicated.
As a result of the investigation, Amy Norris, 25 years old of Huntsville has been charged with:
· Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 15.
The accused's vehicle was impounded for 7 days and they received a 90 Administrative Driver's license Suspension.
