SEXUAL ASSAULT On Oct. 6 it is alleged that a man sexually assaulted a woman known to him. It is further alleged that this occurred within his residence. On Oct.

On Oct. 6 it is alleged that a man sexually assaulted a woman known to him. It is further alleged that this occurred within his residence.

On Oct. 23 constables Vicky Thisdelle and Andre Berube of the North Bay Police Service attended the man's residence and arrested him.

Glen MILLER, 71, of Nelson Avenue, is charged with sexual assault and is to appear in court Nov. 29.

HISTORICAL SEXUAL ASSAULTS
On Oct. 24 Det. Cst. Barry Ramsay, of the Investigative Section of the North Bay Police Service, arrested a man for sexual assault.

It is alleged that a man assaulted three child female victims, ages five to 12, from 1980 to 2001. It is further alleged that these incidents took place in North Bay, Bonfield and Burk's Falls.

Garry Clark WHALEN, 68, of Commanda Crescent, in West Nipissing, is charged with two counts of indecent assault on a female, two counts of sexual assault and sexual interference. He is to appear in court Nov. 29.

DRUGS
On Oct. 21 Det. Cst. Dan Robertson, assisted by constables Mark McLeod and Andre Berube of the North Bay Police Service, arrested a man in relation to cocaine possession.

It is alleged that the man had seven grams of cocaine in his possession and the officers also located oxycodon and morphine within a residence.

George Gerald WOOLCOTT, 58, of Gladstone Avenue, is charged with two counts of possession For the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. He remains in custody awaiting a bail
hearing.

FALSE COMPLAINT TO POLICE
On Oct. 22 Det. Cst. Greg McClenaghan, of the Investigative Section of the North Bay Police Service, arrested a female in relation to a false complaint she had made to police on Sept. 20.

It is further alleged that the woman advised investigators with the North Bay Police Service that she had received a gunshot wound while walking on Main Street W in North Bay.

It was later determined that in fact the woman had received the gunshot wound in a hunting accident.

PAINT BALL DAMAGE
The North Bay Police Service has recently received several complaints of damage to property by persons firing paint balls from a paint ball gun.

Several homes in the West Ferris area have been affected as well as a school in the Birchaven area.
The North Bay Police Service is requesting any information from the public on these incidents.

FAIL TO REMAIN INVOLVING CYCLIST
On Oct. 21 at approximately 10 AM it is alleged that a 14-year-old male was riding his bicycle southbound on Algonquin Avenue near Jane Street when a small vehicle passed him. It is further alleged that as this vehicle was
passing, the occupant opened the door and knocked the victim to the ground.

This vehicle then left the scene making no attempt to assist the cyclist.

The injuries were undetermined.

The vehicle is described as a possible compact and light blue in colour, possibly a Neon type of vehicle with an Ontario licence plate.

The description of the occupants is as follows:
Driver: male white, 20s, short dark hair, stocky build and wearing darktinted sunglasses.

Front seat passenger: male white, 16 to 18 years old, slim build with shoulder length reddish hair and wearing dark coloured pants and he also wore a jacket.

BREAK AND ENTERS
Overnight Oct. 23 thieves forced their way into two safes at Loose Moose Restaurant on Main Street, in North Bay. The thieves made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

On Oct. 21 at approximately 1:30 AM a homeowner awoke to sounds in his house. He called out and startled a suspect who fled down the stairs and out the basement door. This was the same point of entry that the would be thief had used to gain access. The suspect is described as 5'10 to 6', with a black backpack and wore a grey hooded shirt. He rode off in the direction of Massey Drive on a bicycle.

Today Oct. 24 Ms. Marie Therien with the Bank of Canada will be holding an information booth at Northgate Square. She will be providing information to the public about counterfeit Canadian currency. The public is
welcome to attend as well as the media.
