Impaired Drivers Charged Over the weekend, four persons have been charged with impaired driving, one as a result of a minor motor vehicle collision. One driver also charged with driving while disqualified.

Over the weekend, four persons have been charged with impaired driving, one as a result of a minor motor vehicle collision. One driver also charged with driving while disqualified.

Mischief to Vehicle
On Friday a male attended the Royal Canadian Legion on Second Avenue W and damaged an acquaintance's vehicle by scratching it.

He then bragged about the damage to the vehicle. Roger Boissonneault, 55, of Second Avenue E, is charged with mischief under $5000 and released with a Nov. 11 court date.

Domestic Violence
The North Bay Police Service has investigated two separate incidents of domestic assault on Oct. 2.

The names of the accused have been withheld so as not to identify the victims. A total of two threatening, seven assault, three breaches of conditions, and one weapons charges have been laid against two male individuals. Both remain in custody

Threatening
On Sept. 30 Cst. Gainforth arrested a 41-year-old male as a result of an eviction from a boarding house.

Charged with threatening, breach of recognizance, and a weapons charge is Gerald Saulnier, formerly of McIntyre Street East.

Thefts
On Sept. 29 as a result of a shoplifting complaint at a store at Northgate Square, Cst. Warner of the North Bay Police Service arrested a 31-year-old male who was also in possession of a small amount of marihuana, and had an outstanding warrant for transportation fraud. Christopher Lee, of 448 McIntyre Street E, is charged and had a bail hearing Sept 30.

On Oct. 2 a male individual while shoplifting an MP3 player and exiting the store into Northgate Square was approached by store security.

The male resisted the arrest but was held for police. Cst. Ayres of the North Bay police service took over the arrest and released the 41-year old male with a court date of Nov. 15. Stephen Bird of Whitney Avenue is charged with theft under $5000, possession of stolen property, and resisting arrest

On Oct. 1, Cst. MacIntosh of the North Bay Police Service investigated a complaint of a theft of a cell phone at a parking lot Nipissing University/Canadore College on Gormanville road. A male had been evicted from the bar at Canadore College, then took an acquaintance's cell phone and fled the scene.

Dylan Doyan of Labresche Drive is charged with theft under and possession of stolen property under $5000 and three counts of breach of recognizance. He was held in custody with a court date of Oct. 3.

Fail To Remain Motor Vehicle Collision
Cst. Warner of the North Bay Police Service is investigating a failure to remain incident that occurred Oct. 2 at the 700 Block of Front Street.

A vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, lost control skidding off of the roadway and struck a guy wire for a telephone pole, causing minor damage to the wire.

There was minimal damage to the vehicle. Cst. Warner is looking for a vehicle described as: A small blue car with a white stripe down the side and a loud muffler
