Police seized $50,000 in drugs and a loaded handgun after pulling a vehicle over yesterday evening.
The action was part of an investigation.
At 8:45 p.m., the vehicle was stopped in the 800-block of Bloem Street and the three occupants were arrested.
Searches resulted in the seizure of:
- 395 grams of cocaine
- 500 hydromorphone pills
- seven oxycodone pills
- 50 millilitres of methadone
- A loaded handgun
- A prohibited extended magazine and accompanying ammunition
- $4,000 in cash
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $50,000 say police.

Julian Paul Badger, male, age 46 of North Bay, is charged with:
- Three counts of trafficking in a Schedule I substance
- Three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon
- The occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm\
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Tampering with the serial number of a firearm
- Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Failing to comply with a probation order
Ali Abdullah, male, age 21 of Waterloo, is charged with:
- Three counts of trafficking in a Schedule I substance
- Three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon
- The occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Tampering with the serial number of a firearm
- Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order
Mohamad Choucair, male, age 23 of Braeside, Ontario, is charged with:
- Three counts of trafficking in a Schedule I substance
- Three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon
- The occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Tampering with the serial number of a firearm
- Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order
- Driving while under suspension
The men were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
Involved in the arrests were the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit, the OPP Community Street Crime Unit, and the North Bay Police Service Emergency Response Team.
