Highway 17 West collision kills Quebec teen

The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police and the OPP Technical Collision Investigation team are continuing to investigate a fatal collision on Highway 17, east of Pembroke.

On Friday, December 13 at 5:30 a.m., Renfrew OPP attended a collision involving a car and a transport truck on Highway 17 at Storyland Road.

The driver of the car, an 18-year-old male from Shawville, Quebec, was rushed to hospital for life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The highway was closed for several hours to allow for the Technical Collision Investigator and the Reconstructionist to conduct the investigation.
