The North Bay Police Service received a call to attend a residence within the city on the 2nd of June shortly after 11 PM. This request was from a local social agency who was dealing with a client that exhibited mental problems. They were trying to apprehend this person under the Mental Health Act. The officers arrived and observed that a male was within the residence. The song Bad Boys was being played very loudly and repeatedly. Eventually Cst. Jason Long managed to convince the man to come outside and as he did so he held an unknown object in his hand and lunged at another officer. This officer then used the taser to incapacitate the 26-year-old man.
