Early morning traffic stop leads to impaired and drug charges

NBPS locates and seizes cocaine and methamphetamine tablets worth $5,000, charges two with drug trafficking

The North Bay Police Service arrested a 39-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman for drug trafficking.

At approximately 1:45 a.m. on January 29, 2025, members of the North Bay Police Service conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling in the area of Chippewa Street and Cassells Street, North Bay.

Police say the male accused was observed operating the vehicle while the female accused was travelling in the vehicle as a passenger. The male accused showed visible signs of impairment, according to police. NBPS also observed a quantity of suspected cocaine in plain view inside the vehicle. At this point, the two accused
were arrested.

The accused in this incident are:

Chad Callahan, male, age 39, of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Failure to comply with release order
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking x2

Chloe Warbrick, female, age 30, of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking x2

Police report the accused Callahan was tested for alcohol and drug intoxication and testing confirmed that his ability to operate a vehicle was impaired.

Police say a search incident to arrest resulted in the location and seizure of:

  • Approximately 47 grams of suspected cocaine
  • Approximately 37 suspected methamphetamine tablets

The estimated street value of the drugs seized in this incident is approximately $5,000.

Accused Callahan was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
Accused Warbrick was released on an undertaking and is set to appear before the court on March 4, 2025.
