Racing their cars past an OPP detachment on Highway 89 was a poor decision by a pair of teen drivers.
OPP say on January 26 at 2:50 p.m., the Sudbury Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team of the OPP, responded to a traffic complaint of two vehicles racing southbound on Highway 69 in front of the Sudbury OPP Detachment.
The two vehicles were travelling at a speed of 174 kilometres per hour in a posted 90 km/h zone, when located and stopped by police.
As a result of the investigation, two 19-year-old drivers, both from Mississauga, were each charged with speeding and drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed.
Both are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 4 in Sudbury.
Both drivers were issued a 30-day Driver's Licence Suspension and the vehicles were impounded.
