Assault charge laid after road rage attack

'A male driver had approached the driver of a disabled transport truck and proceeded to have a physical altercation'

A 74-year-old Emsdale man faces charges after a road rage attack in Huntsville on December 18.

OPP responded to a disturbance on King William Street at 5:28 p.m. 

"Officers attended the location and through investigation determined that a male driver had approached the driver of a disabled transport truck and proceeded to have a physical altercation striking the victim several times," says Constable Ted Warman. 

The victim did not require medical assistance.

Victor Betts of Emsdale is charged with assault and uttering threata to cause death or bodily harm. Police did not revel the reason for the road rage,

Betts will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on February 13, 2025 at Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.
